Tasting of italian red wines in the Tenuta Polvaro barrel room

When wine and cinema spell passion!

We share a common passion for wine and cinema. And since we have chosen the vocational path that we have, let’s face it… We are always watching out for what glass of white, red or sparkling will make a cameo in the latest blockbuster, somewhere in the story line. And most of the time we are satisfied.

The presence of wine in movies is often discreet. Take the 007 saga for example. In moments of relaxation, the most famous secret agent in the world simply couldn’t say no to a jovial glass of French bubbly. We remain confident that he would have also appreciated our Tenuta Polvaro Prosecco D.O.C. Extra Dry.

“We are always watching out for what glass of white, red or sparkling will make a cameo in the latest blockbuster, somewhere in the story line.”

In American cinema, for example, wine makes an appearance as sort of a status symbol. In much of Woody Allen’s filmography, for example, wine, especially white wine, comes to the fore as a faithful companion of upper-class intellectuals. What would Woody say to a glass of our white Tenuta Polvaro Gold I.G.T.?

A completely different mood dominates Italian cinema, because wine goes hand-and-hand with everyday life, interaction and mealtimes.  Just think of the red wine that can get even the most  bitter rivals, like Peppone and Don Camillo [Italian TV characters] to agree. Even while judging our Tenuta Polvaro Cabernet Sauvignon D.O.C., the jury of the Pramaggiore National Wine Competition 2021, agreed on giving it the Gold Medal!

Speaking of cinema, we are starting to think that Tenuta Polvaro could also prove the perfect set for films. Why not? After all, if it has already been used as a location for photo shoots. Imagine a director  shouting “Action!” among our vines,  within the ancient confines of our en site village,  inside the suggestive barriques cellar or sitting in the shade of our park’s greenery.  And if a dream is a wish… who knows.
